Adhering to an increase in demand for fan-based, live-streamed gaming competitions, Turner’s Cartoon Network EMEA is preparing to launch a single elimination live tournament based on its upcoming mobile app Adventure Time Card Wars Kingdom via gaming culture site Machinima.

Let’s Play Flooping Card Wars! will stream on Machinima’s Twitch channel on July 15 at 8 p.m. BST for Adventure Time fans, who will witness four of Machinima’s top gaming stars—ChimneySwift11, JeromeASE, CavemanFilms and TJ Smith Gaming—battle it out over three rounds to take the Adventure Time Card Wars Kingdom crown.

After the live event, fans will be able to access tournament footage and commentary from the competitors on the participating gamers’ personal YouTube channels until July 25. The content will then hit Cartoon Network’s YouTube channels.

The event marks Cartoon Network’s first crack at live-streamed gaming competitions, which are gaining momentum across the kids business.

Adventure Time Card Wars Kingdom from L.A.-based developer Kung Fu Factory will be released on the App Store, the Amazon Store and Google Play a day before the event. It is the second iteration of the Adventure Time Card Wars mobile app.

Based on a fake card game from a 2012 episode of the popular Adventure Time series, Adventure Time Card Wars has been downloaded six million times to date.
