Peekaboo Barn goes whole hog into licensing

Night & Day Studios is adding to its lineup of licensees for its flagship mobile property with plans for a board game aimed at toddlers.

In continuing to take its flagship Peekaboo Barn brand further into retail, Night & Day Studios has licensed Educational Insights to produce a branded board game aimed at toddlers.

The Peekaboo Barn board game will debut in early 2017 and will include the most popular characters from the original Peekabo Barn app and its sequel, Peekaboo Barn Farm Day.

Educational Insights is designing the board game to promote the development of social, cognitive, language and physical skills in early childhood. Game play is being developed in collaboration with Night & Day Studios. It will also be flexible and open-ended and  based on a Bedtime at the Barn story.

Educational Insights, the company behind popular preschool game The Sneaky, Snacky Squirrel, joins Peekaboo Barn licensees Candlewick Press, Rich Frog and Zazzle. Candlewick will publish its next print title—an interactive board book—in spring 2017, while Rich Frog is currently developing a line of Peekaboo Barn plush animals to debut next winter.

Launched in 2008, Peekaboo Barn was one of the first early childhood apps for mobile devices and currently boasts millions of users. The mobile property made its first foray into retail licensing in 2014.
