Peg + Cat heads for the toy shelf

The math-based preschool series has added a global master toy licensee to its consumer products roster.

9 Story and The Fred Rogers Company’s PBS KIDS series Peg + Cat is poised for a consumer products expansion, thanks to newly appointed global master toy licensee Imports Dragon.

Under the new agreement, the Canadian toyco will translate some of the show’s characters, along with its math and problem-solving concepts, into a preschool toy collection consisting of plush, arts & crafts sets, games and wooden puzzles.

The brand’s first toy line will begin rolling out in the US this fall. To date, the math-based series, now in its second season, has been sold into more than 30 countries.

In other 9 Story news, the prodco’s 52 x 11-minute CGI preschool series Top Wing has been picked up by Nickelodeon for its channels worldwide, excluding Canada. (A Canadian broadcaster was not announced as of press time.)

Top Wing, which was first announced last week, follows a team of young birds that come together to help their community and earn their wings as rescue birds.
