Viacom International Media Networks has teamed up with leisure park operator Parques Reunidos to launch the first Nickelodeon-branded family entertainment center in Spain.

The deal marks Nickelodeon and Parques Reunidos’ first foray in the family entertainment center business, while it expands upon their existing partnership, following the 2014 opening of Nickelodeon Land at Parque de Atracciones in Madrid and NickLand in Germany’s Movie Park in 2007.

The first Nickelodeon family center is opening in Murcia, Spain’s Centro Comercial Thader, which is owned by Metrovacesa, one of the leading operators of shopping malls in Spain.

The 34,000-square-foot space will be equipped with interactive activities, an adventure zone, a food and beverage area, Nickelodeon retail space, and themed rooms for birthday and family gatherings.

It will also feature colorful décor and character meet-and-greets with some of Nickelodeon’s most popular properties, such as SpongeBob SquarePants, Dora the Explorer, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and The Fairly OddParents.

With the Spain location launching first in 2017, more deals are expected to be reached to bring additional Nick-branded family areas to shopping malls across Europe.
