The Powerpuff Girls toys roll in for Cartoon Network

Ahead of the global launch of The Powerpuff Girls TV series this year, Cartoon Network Enterprises has secured a raft of North American partners and products for the revamped brand.

Ahead of the global launch of The Powerpuff Girls TV series this year, Cartoon Network Enterprises has secured a raft of North American partners and products for the revamped brand.

From The Powerpuff Girls master toy partner Spin Master comes a full range of products debuting at US retailers in fall 2016, at which time the toy manufacturer will offer a line of plush, figures and playsets, dolls and role-play items. Highlights from the line include the Deluxe Flip to Action Playset, which is a playset that transforms from the girls’ bedroom to their superhero lab (US$29.99), Aura Powerpods with two-inch doll assortment (US$12.99) and the Vectron Flying Powerpuff Girls Assortment, which features each girl flying with the power of her spinning light trails using Vectron Technology (US$39.99).

Additional new partners in the toy category have also signed on to launch in 2016 and 2017, including Cardinal Industries, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Spin Master, which will offer a full range of puzzles based on the characters and stories from the all-new seriesDisguise will offer a line of role-play items focused on dress-up apparel and accessories inspired by The Powerpuff Girls that will be available across all retail channels in fall 2016. Funko, meanwhile, will offer Pop! Vinyl figures, Mystery Minis blind box series, MyMojis blind bags and Dorbz figures. The line will debut at Comic-Con International in July 2016 and will be featured at additional conventions prior to its wide release beginning in 2017.

Other licensees include Pressman Toy Corp (board games, card games and puzzles), A&A Global (products for vending machines) and Toy Factory (plush toys, pillows, rubber balls, novelty hats and more for outdoor amusements, family entertainment centers and traveling amusement venues.)

Since debuting in 1998 an throughout its original 78-episode run, The Powerpuff Girls television series created by Craig McCracken earned two Emmy Awards along with five nominations. The all-new animated series will launch in spring 2016 on Cartoon Network, with a new cast voicing Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup.
