Two ABC TV executives – Deirdre Brennan (pictured) and Carole Sklan – are set to depart from the Australian broadcaster.
Brennan will leave her role as head of Children’s to pursue new opportunities within the international marketplace. The former BBC Worldwide exec joined the ABC TV team in 2013 as controller of children’s content, and she has since been at the helm of ABC KIDS and ABC3. Brennan will depart from the company in March, at which time Luka Skandle, Children’s channel manager, will take on her additional responsibilities until a replacement is found.
Sklan, who is head of Fiction at ABC TV, will step down from her role at the end of this month, and deputy head of Fiction Alastair McKinnon will act in the role until a replacement is appointed.
Sklan headed up the Fiction team for nearly six years. After overseeing the production of more than 400 hours of Australian drama and comedy, Sklan is taking a break from the world of scripted development and production.
