FremantleMedia Kids & Family (FMK) has a new multi-territory home entertainment partner in Universal Pictures Home Entertainment (UPHE) Content Group,which will take on a range of FMK’s current titles including Danger Mouse, Tree Fu Tom (pictured) and Kate & Mim-Mim.
The latter, a co-production with Canada’s DHX Media, continues to pick up licensing momentum in Europe, along with Tree Fu Tom brand. Danger Mouse, meanwhile, is readying for its Netflix debut this spring.
UPHE will manage all DVD and DTO releases for FMK’s titles, and it will also manage the division’s catalog of classic archive content, which includes The BFG – The Big Friendly Giant and library titles including the original Danger Mouse, Count Duckula, The Wind in the Willows and Rainbow. FMK’s total catalog features roughly 5,000 hours’ worth of programming.
Under the terms of the deal, UPHE will also manage the home entertainment rights for any future FMK commissions.
