Toei Animation inks program deals in Latin America

Toei Animation has licensed the newly remastered versions of the studio's hit animated series Dragon Ball Z and Saint Seiya to broadcasters in Ecuador and Nicaragua.

L.A.-based Toei Animation has licensed the newly remastered versions of the studio’s hit animated series Dragon Ball Z (pictured) and Saint Seiya to broadcasters in Ecuador and Nicaragua.

Dragon Ball Z has been snapped up by Ecuador’s Corporacion Ecuatoriana de TV.S.A., while Nicaragua’s Televisora Nicaraguense S.A. Canal 8 has also acquired the series, along with 114 episodes of Saint Seiya.

Toei Inc., which is responsible for the program licensing of Toei-produced series in North America, Latin America, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand, is currently shopping the remastered series to international broadcasters at NATPE in Miami.

The sales come in advance of the upcoming debut of Toei’s first all-new Dragon Ball series in nearly two decades, Dragon Ball Superwhich will launch exclusively across India and Southeast Asia on Turner’s Toonami in the middle of this year.
