Henson inks raft of international broadcasting deals

The Jim Henson Company has secured multiple deals with international broadcasters, including Disney Channel and ABC Australia, for a trio of its popular preschool programs: Dinosaur Train, Sid the Science Kid and Pajanimals.

The Jim Henson Company has secured multiple deals with international broadcasters, including Disney Channel and ABC Australia, for a trio of its popular preschool programs: Dinosaur Train, Sid the Science Kid and Pajanimals.

For Dinosaur Train in Europe, Buena Vista has snapped up seasons three and four for Disney Channel Germany; Watchever has taken season two for Austria, Germany and Switzerland; French cabsat provider Multithematiques has licensed season three; and ERT in Greece has acquired season one.

Other deals for Dinosaur Train include TFO French Canada (season three); Knowledge Network British Columbia (season three and four); SIC for Angola and Mozambique (seasons one and two); Emirates Cable TV & Multimedia (seasons three and four, season one renewal); Swen Entretenimientos Brazil (season one); and ABC Australia (season one).

In Asia, Sid the Science Kid season one has been acquired by Singapore’s Mediacorp and Japan’s Nagase Brothers for its Educational Network. Additionally, Emirates Cable TV & Multimedia (United Arab Emirates) has purchased the SVOD rights to season two; ERT Greece has season one. The first season has also been sold to TV Film International in Latin America for Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Dominican Republic, Paraguay, Peru and Uruguay.

Meanwhile, Pajanimals has been licensed to MTV Oy (Finland), ERT (Greece), RTB (Brunei), POD Worldwide (Thailand), Emirates Cable TV & Multimedia (UAE) and Swen Entretenimientos (Brazil).
