UK-based Koko Rose Media has teamed up with kids digital developer Playrific to launch an app based on its woodland-themed preschool property, Deer Little Forest.

The Deer Little Forest app features the brand’s distinctive artwork woven into 18 different activities such as puzzles, coloring pages, an e-book and maker games, including one based solely on the brand’s greeting cards designed by IP creator and illustrator Jo Rose.

Currently available for iOS and Android devices, with a Kindle version coming in mid-December, the free app also includes a trailer from the upcoming 52 x 11-minute preschool series from UK animation studio King Rollo Films (Poppy Cat, Mama Mirabelle, Maisy, Humf).

The Deer Little Forest brand, which originated in Britain as a popular line of greeting cards, is also heading into publishing, with a picture book illustrated by Rose and written by Alison Green (The Fox in the Dark) in the works.

In September, Jo Rose and kids media executive Lisa Hryniewicz formed joint-venture company Koko Rose Media to manage the growing brand’s global IP rights. Deer Little Forest now has 13 international licensing agents. It is repped by Think Tank Emporium in the US and Canada, Empire Multimedia in China and Southeast Asia, and Burda Intermedia Merchandising in German-speaking territories.
