In a new partnership with BBC Worldwide, CBBC has introduced ANIM8, the pubcaster’s first animation pilot initiative intended to give UK innovators the chance to pitch character-driven, comedic concepts for funded development.

With the goal of finding the next generation of UK animators and potential hit series with global appeal, ANIM8 is now open for submissions that target older kids, are character-driven, funny, fast-paced, unpredictable, and with a unique take on contemporary life.

The scheme is open to all animation styles and techniques, including mixed media, and the deadline for initial submissions is January 22, 2016.

For those submitting, a minimum of two broadcast, published, or digital credits for commissioned work are required.

Entrants will be accepted through a multi-stage development process with the finalists moving on to a pilot stage in April 2016.

The submission form and additional details can be found at bbc.co.uk/anim8.
