DHX Media to distribute The Deep globally

Technicolor has named DHX Media as the new global distributor for the CGI-animated series The Deep, which is set to debut November 30 on Australia's Seven Network.

Paris-based Technicolor has named Canada’s DHX Media as the new global distributor for new boys action series  The Deep, which is set to debut November 30 on Australia’s Seven Network.

A CGI-animated co-production between DHX Media and Australia’s A Stark Production, The Deep targets kids ages six to 12 and is based on the graphic novel series created by Tom Taylor (Earth 2, Superior Iron Man, Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight). Canada’s Nerd Corps Entertainment joined A Stark as a global production partner last September, three months before its US$50-million acquisition by DHX.

DHX Media will represent the TV series worldwide, excluding Australia and New Zealand, which will be handled by A Stark. International broadcast partners for The Deep also currently include ABC3 (Australia), Super RTL (Germany), Ketnet (Belgium), NRK (Norway), SVT (Sweden) and YLE (Finland).
