Taking its kids and general entertainment content strategy in a more global direction, Turner is strengthening ties between its international and US operations with new remits for EMEA SVP and chief content and creative officer for kids Patricia Hidalgo and Central and Eastern Europe SVP and MD Hannes Heyelmann.

Effective immediately, Hidalgo (pictured) will assume responsibilities for Turner’s International Kids Strategy, and serve as a liaison with the company’s kids production teams in the US.

Heyelmann, for his part, will add International Original Programming Strategy to his duties and will also rep Turner International as a liaison exec, but for Turner’s general entertainment production teams in the US.

In their new roles, both executives will work with Turner International president Gerhard Zeiler, but still report directly to Turner EMEA president Giorgio Stock.

Hidalgo, who joined Turner EMEA in 2013 after a 15-year career at Disney, and Heyelmann will also collaborate closely with Turner International CFO Aksel van der Wal and his team on operational aspects around the kids and general entertainment originals production slate.

The new joint-business approach comes as Turner has doubled its investment in programming and content and rolled out its rebranded all-animation Boomerang kids channel globally alongside Cartoon Network.
