Following a busy July that saw the departure of co-founder/president Elie Dekel, as well as the hiring of Janet Hsu as CEO and Rick Magallanes as SVP of development and production, Saban Brands has added five new executives to its operations.
Joining the L.A.-based IP management arm of Saban Capital Group are Tori Cook as SVP of global retail business development (pictured), Marcy George as VP of global consumer products, Jennifer Wexler as SVP of marketing, Stan Wan as creative director of Saban Brands Lifestyle Group, and Scott Rosenbaum as SVP of business and legal affairs.
In her new SVP role, Cook will aim to develop relationships and programs with retailers globally and spearhead retail efforts across all product categories for the company’s slate of entertainment and lifestyle properties. She hails from house of Hello Kitty Sanrio, where she was VP of retail business development.
On the global consumer products side of the business, new VP Marcy George is tasked with developing and executing a worldwide licensing strategy across Saban’s entertainment portfolio. Overseeing the licensing sales, product development and CP creative teams, George will also work closely with Dan Castle, who heads up the company’s lifestyle portfolio. Prior to Saban, George was the founding CEO of David & Goliath Licensing and also served as VP of licensing and global sales and brand management for MGA Entertainment.
Jennifer Wexler, who has been consulting for Saban Brands Lifestyle Group over the past six months, is joining the company full time. In her SVP of maketing role, she will oversee global marketing strategies and campaigns for the company’s entire portfolio of entertainment and lifestyle brands.
Another former consultant Stan Wan, is also coming on board full time as creative director of Saban Brands Lifestyle Group. He will manage all aspects of visual communication including brand ethos and product authenticity, and look to develop creative design strategies for all lifestyle brands.
Rounding out the new hires is SVP of business/legal affairs and 15-year Mattel vet Scott Rosenbaum. At Saban Brands, Rosenbaum is responsible for all legal matters, which includes managing and overseeing the company’s legal department across all business segments such as entertainment/media, marketing, acquisitions, L&M and IP.
