Coming straight out of Disney Channel’s inaugural Storytellers program is the newly greenlit live-action tween comedy series Bizaardvark.

The music-themed series was created by Kyle Stegina and Josh Lehrman, who were participants in the program launched inĀ August 2014 in an effort to foster creative ideas and develop the next generation of series creators and writers of programming for kids, tweens and families.

Bizaardvark introduces newcomers Olivia Rodrigo and Madison Hu as lead characters Paige and Frankie, respectively. The two are quirky 13-year-old friends who write funny songs and create music videos for their online channel, Bizaardvark. Now with 10,000 subscribers, the girls get to work from a creative studio space that they hope will take their videos to the next level.

Production beginsĀ in early 2016, with a summer premiere in the works. Marc Warren (Full House, Cory in the House), who supervised Disney Channel Storytellers, served as executive producer for the pilot, and Eric Friedman (Austin & Ally, Crash & Bernstein) will serve as executive producer and showrunner. Stegina and Lehrman are attached as co-executive producers.
