A-list broadcasters line up for Portfolio’s freaky new series

Portfolio Entertainment has secured deals with a range of leading global linear broadcasters, including Cartoon Network and Disney, for its new series, Freaktown.

Toronto, Canada-based Portfolio Entertainment has secured deals with a range of leading global linear broadcasters for its new series, Freaktown.

The series is slated to debut in 2016 on Cartoon Network in Asia Pacific (Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Australia and New Zealand). Also on-board are The Walt Disney Company Southeast Asia, ABC Australia and Turner’s Kids Networks in EMEA, which picked up the series for Boing in France and its French-speaking territories in Europe and Africa.

Commissioned by Teletoon in Canada, animated series Freaktown (52 x 11 minutes) is the first Portfolio has created and produced at its new animation studio. The series targeting kids six to 11 follows the adventures of skeleton Ben Bones and his freaky friends who look to prevent Princess Boo Boo the Bouncy of Sweetlandia from taking over their town.
