Disney Junior’s fairytale-inspired animated series Goldie & Bear has been slated for a September 12 premiere in the US via the WATCH Disney Junior digital platform – two months before its November TV bow.
The first six episodes of the series will be offered each Monday on the digital service and its accompanying website from September 21 to October 12.
To support the launch – and its digital nature – DisneyJunior.com and WATCH Disney Junior will roll out more than 20 Goldie & Bear micro-games throughout the fall, with the first six debuting alongside the series. Housed in a storybook containing an interactive map of Fairy Tale Forest, each game centers on a classic fairy tale or nursery rhyme character.
The show itself, aimed at kids ages two to seven, takes place in the magical world of Fairy Tale Forest, where Goldie and Bear are reunited after the renowned porridge incident featured in Goldilocks and The Three Bears.
The TV series, executive produced by Jorge Aguirre (Giants Beware! graphic novel series) and Chris Gilligan (Frankenweenie), will launch on Disney Channel and Disney Junior US in November.
