Following the departure of former Spin Master Entertainment VP and exec producer Jennifer Dodge  in March, Toronto, Canada-based toyco Spin Master  has upped Laura Clunie to VP of entertainment.

The promotion comes six months after the company named Clunie as its VP of creative affairs, girls and preschool, and two weeks after it revealed plans for an IPO.

Clunie is now in charge of Spin Master’s entertainment business, including content creation, acquisitions, development, production, financing, distribution and the recently launched SpindoTV digital platform.

Since early February, she has been overseeing the development and production of Spin Master’s preschool and girls series such as PAW Patrol and Little Charmers.

Before joining Spin Master, the 20-year industry veteran was VP of creative affairs at eOne Family, where she led all creative initiatives for global hit properties like Peppa Pig and Ben and Holly’s Little Kingdom.

As for Spin Master, the company recently signed on as master toy partner for a number of promising IPs such as 3D-animated film The Secret Life of Pets, the rebooted Powerpuff Girls TV series and hit Russian property Masha and the Bear. It will also be distributing Teletubbies toys in 2016.
