Spin Master takes Masha and the Bear master toy license

The deal with Spin Master marks Masha and the Bear's entry into the US retail market. The animated preschool series from Russia's Animaccord Animation Studios also just landed a spot on Netflix US.

After revealing the series’ US pickup by Netflix yesterday, Animaccord Studios, the Russian producer of  internationally successful toon Masha and the Bear, has tapped Canada’s Spin Master as the North American master toy licensee for the property.

Spin Master will create a wide range of toys for the property, marking Masha and the Bear’s entry into the US market.

Masha and the Bear has had a successful CP program (started in Russia and CIS) across several Euro territories for the past two years. Accordingly, European master toy licensee Simba Dickie Group is also rolling out new Masha products, starting in the second half of this year. Other current European licensees include Danone, Egmont, Panini, Hachette, Sony Music, NBC Universal, Ferrero and LG.

Released in 2009, Masha and The Bear has become a globally popular property, with more than 550 million views on YouTube for the show’s 50 uploaded episodes, 1.5 million app downloads per year, and more than 3.7 million followers on Facebook.
