Wicked Cool Toys inks master toy deal for Thomas Edison’s Secret Lab

Genius Brands International has tapped Wicked Cool Toys as global master toy licensee for its original animated-adventure series Thomas Edison’s Secret Lab.

The comprehensive STEM-based toy line will include compounds, activity kits, science kits, food sets, figures, play sets, novelties and role-play items designed to encourage kids to explore and have fun with science.

Wicked Cool Toys joins a growing roster of licensees for the property, including broadcasters Discovery Kids (Asia) and Da Vinci Learning (Russia, Turkey, Africa, Central/Eastern Europe), as well as NCircle Entertainment (North American home entertainment rights). GBI and FatRedCouch are also launching an app timed with the show’s debut.

Incorporating humor, and inspired by Thomas Edison’s inventive spirit, the 52 x 11-minuteseries premieres this fall on individual PBS stations through a partnership with American Public Television, the Kid Genius Channel on Comcast and additional online services.

The show follows 12-year-old science prodigy Angie who accidentally discovers Thomas Edison’s secret lab with her science club, which is filled with state-of-the-art gizmos and gadgets, including two of his last inventions—a hologram that brings him to life and a virtual reality machine, which enables him to travel anywhere.
