British licensing agency Brands with Influence (BWI) has inked two publishing deals for the new animated preschool series Nelly and Nora from Dublin-based animation studio Geronimo.
UK-based Immediate Media (London, Bristol, Manchester) has licensed the brand for its CBeebies and Toybox magazines, while London’s Walker Books has picked up global publishing rights and is launching the IP’s first picture book in early 2016 as part of a larger program.
Nelly and Nora tells the story of two young Irish sisters who spend their weekends and holidays with their parents at the family’s mobile home by the sea, where the weather plays a key role in their daily adventures.
Developed by Emma Hogan and directed by Jamie Teehan, the series debuted on Irish pubcaster RTEjr in February. It is also slated to air in May on CBeebies in the UK and on KiKa in Germany later this year.
BWI was recently appointed to manage the brand’s worldwide licensing program and is working closely with BBC Worldwide, which is handling the show’s international distribution and broadcast on global CBeebies channels.
BBC Worldwide has secured additional broadcast deals for the series in France, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Iceland and Czech Republic, but air dates in each country have not yet been finalized.
