UK publisher Macmillan Children’s Books, a division of Pan Macmillan, has picked up global publishing rights to four books (physical/digital) that will form the basis for a new children’s series, Little Legends.

Co-created by author/illustrator Tom Percival (Skulduggery Pleasant) and digital media company Made in Me (The Land of Me), Little Legends stories will take place in Tale Town, home to Little Red Riding Hood, Jack (from the giant beanstock), Anansi (the original spider man from West African folklore), Princess Rapunzel, and many others. Filled with classic characters from legends and fairy tales, the adventures of children take place in the town with extraordinary surroundings.

The Little Legends brand launches as a digital book in the Me Books app, paperback and ebook in February 2016, beginning with books one and two: The Spell Thief and The Great Troll Rescue.

The Spell Thief recounts Anansi’s arrival in Tale Town, where everyone welcomes the newcomer, except for Jack, who sees Anansi sneaking around and suspects something is awry. When Jack finds Anansi talking to a troll in the Dark Woods, he is convinced Anansi must be a spy.
