Talking Tom and his friends continue to expand their multiplatform presence. The talking tomcat’s new animated series, Talking Tom and Friends, from Outfit7 will be one of the flagship brands on Google’s new YouTube Kids app.
The series debuts on April 30 on YouTube Kids, with new eps being launched on a weekly basis from the Talking Tom and Friends YouTube channel. The 52 x 11-minute show follows the adventures of Talking Tom and the gang, as they film their own reality TV show.
The news was officially announced today, during Kidscreen Summit.
In addition to the YouTube launch, Outfit7 announced a star-studded cast for the touchscreen series, with Tom being voiced by Colin Hanks (Fargo, Mad Men, Dexter) and Hank voiced by Tom Kenny (SpongeBob SquarePants, Adventure Time). The series also features YouTube star Lisa Schwartz as Angela (Not Cool).
As the origin of Talking Tom and Friends lies in the app realm, it’s a natural fit for the new YouTube Kids app. The brand has more than 1.4 billion views on YouTube and over 2.5 billion mobile downloads. From the smallest screen to the big screen, Talking Tom also has a movie in in the works and a growing L&M program, including a new 3D printing initiative.
