Genius Brands International and Penguin Young Readers are partnering on a global consumer products program for Anna Dewdney’s popular children’s book series Llama Llama.

A range of merchandise for the New York Times bestselling series will include toys, games, apparel, accessories, bedding and healthy foods. Products are expected to launch in the US in 2016.

In addition, an animated multi-platform series (TV, digital) is being developed this year for the property, which has previously been adapted for the stage, musicals and dance performances.

The series is renowned for its soothing writing style and signature characters who address everyday issues young children face and help kids overcome childhood anxiety. More than 9.4 million Llama Llama books have been printed and translated into eight languages.
