Producers and broadcasters only have a few days left to submit their television and digital productions for the Canadian Youth Media Alliance’s (YMA) Awards of Excellence.
Open to all Canadian-made youth productions originally broadcast in English within Canada between January 1, 2013 and December 31, 2014, the competition closes on Friday, February 20 at 5 p.m. Nominations must be submitted online.
A total of 15 awards will be handed out, including the Grand Prize for the most outstanding production to hit the small screen over the past two years, along with awards for emerging talent and lifetime achievement.
The gala will be held on May 27 at the CBC Glenn-Gould Studio in Toronto. More information, including rules and entry forms, is available here.
Along with announcing the last day for nominations to be submitted, the Youth Media Alliance also announced Louis Fournier the jury president. The veteran of children’s content for television and new media was most recently VP of sales and acquisitions at Toronto’s Portfolio Entertainment.
His expertise covers a wide range from international distribution to development and production financing. Currently, he is based in Toronto and is a consultant for a number of industry clients.
