With their upcoming film due out in US theaters this July, Despicable Me’s madcap Minions are set to be featured in a new line of products from Jakks Pacific. The Malibu, California-based toyco has picked up the rights to manufacture and distribute products based on the gibberish-speaking characters from Universal Pictures’ and Illumination Entertainment’s Despicable Me film franchise.

The licensing agreement (granted by Universal Partnerships & Licensing) includes storage containers, inflatable ball pits, wagons, arcade games, Jakks’ Original Big Wheel bike and outdoor children’s furniture.

Products are expected to hit toy shelves at retailers in North America this spring.

Minions follows the wee yellow ones throughout history, as they serve an impressive roster of “despicable” masters, from T-Rex to Napoleon. On a mission to find a new master, they come across super-villain and potential new boss Scarlet Overkill (Sandra Bullock) and her hubby Herb Overkill (Jon Hamm).

The 3D-CG comedy adventure is produced by Illumination’s Chris Meledandri and Janet Healy and directed by Pierre Coffin and Kyle Balda, with a US theatrical release slated for July 10.
