In a move that bolsters its construction portfolio, Mattel-owned Mega Brands has announced partnerships with a number of entertainment brands, including Nickelodeon and Saban Brands, to create new Mega Bloks lines.

Mega Brands is introducing a Power Rangers Mega Bloks line in 2016, based on the newest season of the Saban Brands franchise (Power Rangers Dino Charge).

Also rolling out in 2016 will be Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Mega Bloks, following Mattel’s expansion of its licensing partnership with Nickelodeon. Kids will be able to build and collect the TMNT world, with building sets, vehicles and a range of buildable micro-action figures drawn from Nickelodeon’s TV show and movies.

Mattel acquired Mega Brands last February for US$460 million. Its product line currently features licensed sets like Despicable Me’s Minions and Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob SquarePants.
