Coming out of its official launch at MIP Junior, 52 x 13-minute animated comedy series Boyster has been picked up by Disney for broadcast in Japan, Southeast Asia and Latin America from Paris-based distributor Superights.
The series, which follows the adventures of a boy who is half oyster, is produced by French prodco Je Suis Bien Content, Disney EMEA and France Télévisions.
Superights acquired the global distribution rights to the series in March 2014.
Launched in 2013 and led by former M6 head of children’s programming Morgann Favennec, Superights also recently secured sales for preschool animated series Pic Nic with Cake and Kika & Bob with a number of broadcasters including Discovery Kids Asia Pacific and Canal+ Family in France.
