Caillou is turning 25 and brand owner DHX Media is embarking on a year-long marketing campaign to celebrate the preschool brand’s milestone, supported by new consumer products, partnerships, sweepstakes and events.
The campaign has kicked off with a sweepstakes program open to residents in the US and Canada. Parents can now sign up on Facebook to win products like toys, books and DVDs.
New products are also currently rolling into North American retailers, including Caillou Family Favorites DVD and Book (PBS), Caillou’s Holiday Movie (NCircle), Caillou’s 25th Anniversary Treasury Album (Chouette Publishing) and a limited toy line (Imports Dragon).
Caillou first appeared in a book published by Chouette Publishing in 1989. Currently, the IP’s long-running animated series is ranked #1 on the 24-hour preschool TV channel Sprout, and it’s been sold into more than 100 countries such as the US (PBS, Sprout), Canada (Treehouse and TFO), Germany (Super RTL), Turkey (Samanyolu) and Spain (RTVE).
