Montreal, Canada-based Budge Studios is broadening its distribution with KD Interactive, the maker of the Kurio line of Android kids tablets. Several of the publisher’s apps will now be preloaded onto the new Kurio Xtreme tablet.

Budge Studios apps slated for the new device include Caillou House of Puzzles, Care Bears Create & Share, Strawberry Shortcake Bake Shop and Winx Club: Rocks the World.

Designed for kids of all ages, the 7-inch Android-powered tab (US$129.99) rolled out at North American retailers last month, distributed by Techno Source. In addition to the Budge products, it comes preloaded with games and access to eBooks, music-streaming apps, movies and Google Play.

The news follows Budge Studios’ recent release of The Smurfs Bakery! app, which marks the first food-based app for the classic blue characters.
