China-based animation studio and toyco Guangdong Alpha Animation and Culture Company is making its first foray into North American markets with the creation of a stateside business unit called Auldey Toys North America. The new subsidiary will launch in 2015, with industry vet Adrian Roche at the helm as president.

In addition to new products, Auldey Toys will debut its first North American preschool animation program Super Wings in 2015. The preschool series was produced in collaboration with South Korea’s FunnyFlux Entertainment, QianQi Animation in China and Little Airplane Productions in the US. It follows the adventures of a jet plane that travels around the world, delivering packages to children. Super Wings licensing program and consumer products are being carried out in conjunction with Auldey, which will develop toys for the preschool property.

Auldey Toys will be headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts. Its new president, Roche, served for eight years as VP of brands at MEGA Brands before joining Auldey. Prior to that, he was VP at The First Years (TOMY).
