Spanish production and distribution company Imira Entertainment has inked its first deal with Hulu to stream Imira’s original series Lola & Virginia on the on-demand platform.

In a deal brokered by US distributor Viva Pictures Distribution, the animated series will be available for viewing in the US and Canada.

Lola & Virginia (52 x 12 minutes) is a co-production between Imira Entertainment, Millimages, France 3, Televisió de Catalunya and ETB. It is based on the original concept from Myriam Ballesteros, founding partner of Imira Entertainment with Sergi Reitg.

In recent digital deals, the series launched in the US on Amazon Prime and Amazon Instant, and in Spain on Telefonica’s Movistar España VOD platforms and on Samsung Smart TVs. To date, the show has been sold into more than 100 countries, to broadcasters including RAI, RTVE, France 3, RTP, as well as Nickelodeon (Latin America, Asia, France, Benelux, Korea) and Disney Channels (Spain, Italy).
