Target taps Sony for Annie apparel exclusive

Sony Consumer Products has inked a deal with Target that sees the costume designer from the upcoming Annie remake creating a girls holiday apparel line.

You’re only 81 days away. Target has inked a deal with Sony Consumer Products to partner with the costume designer of the upcoming Annie remake from Sony Pictures. Designer Renée Ehrlich Kalfus is creating an exclusive limited-edition holiday apparel and accessories line for girls based on the new feature film.

In Target’s first collaboration with a costume designer, the 25-piece kids apparel line will have details like patches, embroidery, buttons and tulle, as well as a DIY kit for personalizing colors. The collection will arrive in US Target stores on November 16, and each item will retail for less than US$30.

Sony Pictures’ contemporized movie of the 1982 classic hits theaters December 19, with a cast that includes Jamie Foxx and Cameron Diaz. The role of Annie will be played by Quvenzhané Wallis, the Oscar-nominated 11-year-old from indie hit Beasts of the Southern Wild.
