They may look small, but the Seven Dwarfs can stand tall among Disney’s properties. Last Monday’s premiere of The 7D, a new-age look at the Seven Dwarfs, brought in 546,000 viewers to Disney XD. It was the network’s second-best animated original series premiere among kids aged two to 11 and six to 11.
The show takes a comedic look at the lives of the Seven Dwarfs, before Snow White came along, who try to save the kingdom of Jollywood from an evil sorcerer couple. The series is executive produced by Tom Ruegger (Animaniacs) and includes the voices of star talents such as Bill Farmer, Kelly Osbourne and Billy West.
Complementing the success of the show, the app game The 7D Mine Train from Disney Publishing Worldwide is the top app in the kids category for iPads in more than 40 countries. To date, it has more than 1.3 million downloads.
