Fuhu, the maker of nabi tablets, is continuing to heat up the competition in the children’s tablet space. The nabi creators introduced a new tablet-based immersive play experience that connects physical and digital in new ways with Fuhu’s newest invention, Morpho Pods.

Using the latest advances in near field communication (NFC) technology, Morpho Pods combine toys, video games, interactive storybooks and custom animation. Kids can bring to life dragons from DreamWorks Animation’s How to Train Your Dragon films, using the new Morpho Pods Dragons Edition.

The pods are collectible figurines. Each Dragons Edition package contains a small pod that springs open into an interlocking head, body or tail of a dragon. With a tap of the pod toy to nabi DreamTab, kids can bring their dragons to digital screens, for adventures that go beyond physical game play.

The dragon Morpho Pods will also unlock new How To Train Your Dragon storytelling experiences in the coming weeks. Later this summer, kids can experience a 2D and CG interactive storytelling experience that lets kids create new adventures that bring to life their Morpho Pods dragons along with Hiccup, Toothless and other popular characters.

The Morpho Pods Dragons Edition will debut this month exclusively at Walmart, following the theatrical release of How to Train Your Dragon 2.
