On the heels of their initial Telepods line, Rovio Entertainment and Hasbro are teaming up to bring to market a new franchise that combines two of their biggest brands: Angry Birds and Transformers.
Angry Birds Transformers will feature a mobile game, consumer licensed goods and a product line from Hasbro.
The new franchise follows a growing number of collaborations between Hasbro and Rovio, including the Angry Birds Star Wars and Angry Birds Go! product lines, as well as the upcoming Angry Birds Stella Telepods line, available this September.
Later this year, Hasbro will introduce a product line featuring Telepods technology that will allow fans to teleport Angry Birds Transformers characters into the game and get unique powers. In 2013, the companies announced an expanded licensing agreement making Hasbro its premier toy and game licensee.
This latest Hasbro collaboration follows Rovio’s recent expansion of its products licensing team, as the company looks to grow its consumer products.
According to Hasbro and Rovio, more will be revealed about Angry Birds Transformers products and content in the coming weeks.
