The UK’s ITV Studios Global Entertainment has signed an agreement with Australia’s free-to-air Nine Network for the original remake of Thunderbirds Are Go!.

The new animated/live action show (26 x 30 minutes) from ITV Studios,  Weta Workshop and Pukeko Pictures is a reinvention of the 1960s classic kids’ series. It will air on Nine’s youth-skewing digital channel GO!, in its children’s programming block, and it will also be available through 9juimpin’s VOD service.

Thunderbirds Are Go!  is slated to air next spring, not long after the UK world premiere, which comes 50 years after the original series debuted. The resurgence of the iconic show has garnered a lot of attention, including a range of branded toys announced in May of last year.
