London-based producer and rights management company Coolabi Group’s Poppy Cat brand will expand its presence in the US and Spain following deals with licensing agents Firefly Brand Management and El Ocho.

California-based Cosmic Forces is also set to develop an educational app entitled Poppy Cat Goes to the Market, which teaches basic Spanish language to English-speaking toddlers and English to Spanish preschoolers. Launching this summer, the new app will be available on iOS, Android, Nook, web and desktop platforms.

Fellow Californian Firefly Brand Management will develop a North American consumer products program as season two of Poppy Cat launches on Sprout in the US this fall.

Madrid-based El Ocho will be developing initiatives for Poppy Cat in the territory, where the brand airs on Disney Spain and on terrestrial broadcast channel TVE.

Poppy Cat is co-produced by Coolabi’s television production arm, Coolabi Productions, along with King Rollo Films and was commissioned by Nick Jr. in the UK.
