A new Power Rangers live-action feature film is in the works thanks to a production partnership between Lionsgate – house of The Hunger Games and Twilight franchises – and Saban Brands.

The Power Rangers brand, which was first introduced by creator Haim Saban as a live-action television series more than two decades ago, currently reaches across toys, apparel, costumes, video games, DVDs, comic books and other merchandise.

The two companies will now take the property to the big screen in a new original film franchise that will re-envision the Power Rangers as a group of high school kids who are infused with unique and cool super powers.
