Building on the global strength of its hit international co-production Violetta, Disney EMEA has inked a co-commission with Disney US for a new multi-part live-action movie produced by Liverpool-based indie Lime Pictures entitled Evermoor.
The project, created by House of Anubis alums Tim Compton and Diane Whitley, will be the first-ever live-action movie produced in the UK to be broadcast on Disney Channel US and Disney Channel’s largest UK production to date.
Evermoor follows the story of an American teen named Tara Bailey who finds herself adjusting to life in a spooky remote village in middle England after being uprooted from her city home in the US. Teamed with her brother Jake and her British step-siblings Seb and Bella, she suddenly falls into a web of danger and intrigue and must fight to save her new family home, Evermoor Manor.
Bede Blake (House of Anubis, Strange Hill High) has signed on to write, Tim Compton to produce and Rebecca Hodgson (Good Cop, Stolen) to executive produce.
The mystery adventure series is expected to premiere from fall 2014 on Disney Channel in more than 160 countries including the US.
Evermoor also marks the first time Lime Pictures has worked with Disney and the first time an independent UK production company has worked with the Mouse House on a live-action movie.
Production begins this spring at Arley Hall and Gardens in Cheshire, UK (pictured).
