UK-based Endemol has secured a multi-territory deal with Turner Broadcasting System International for the second season of 2D-animated comedy series Mr. Bean.
The deal covers Asia Pacific, Latin America, the Middle East and key European markets such as the UK, Turkey, Spain and Italy.
Produced in-house by Endemol-owned Tiger Aspect Productions, the dialogue-free 52 x 11-minute series once again features the talents of British comedian and actor Rowan Atkinson.
Production on the new series began in October 2013 and delivery is expected for 2014-15.
Turner International’s second flagship channel Boomerang first aired Mr. Bean season one in fall 2010 across EMEA and the ratings winner has gone on to sell into more than 70 international territories.
Season two was also recently pre-sold to CiTV in the UK and Germany’s Super RTL.
The Mr. Bean property boasts the beloved live-action series that has been seen in more than 190 countries worldwide, as well as two hit live-action movies, top-selling DVDs, extensive consumer products, and a large social media and web presence, where Mr. Bean YouTube clips have been viewed 355 million times to date.
