California-based toymaker Jakks Pacific has secured a multi-year licensing renewal with Saban Brands to produce Halloween costumes and accessories for kids and adults based on the Power Rangers boys brand.

The deal, which extends through 2017, and will kick off at retail stores across the US this fall, will feature costumes based on characters from the new Power Rangers Super Megaforce series.

Jakks has also announced the launch of the brand new toy-based Hero Portal TV Games platform in fall 2014 featuring Power Rangers, as well as other popular kids properties such as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and DC super heroes.

The low-cost console system is part of Jakks new commitment to investing in tech-based toys, which began last year after the company underwent a significant restructure.

Looking to bounce back in 2014, Jakks is banking on success from its expanding DreamPlay app portfolio, its new girl-skewing miWorld Mall App and a number of additional app/toy projects.
