batteryPOP springs up with more content deals

New York-based startup batteryPOP, the three-month-old network launched by former Nickelodeon vets Greg Alkalay and Taso Mastorakis that streams short-form content to kids ages six to 11, has now scored content deals for six series.

The new offerings include the MondoTV animated series ANTS, the Video Elephant live action series This Is Daniel Cook, The Amazing Professor Ambrosius from Band Content Distribution that will be available in both English and Portuguese,live action series TAG! Silver Spoon Blues, the Turkish animated series Limon and Oli from Mart Licensing Agency and the Spanish variety series Menuda Noche from Grupo ZZJ.

The new content will join existing programs currently available for streaming across computers, tablets and smartphones that includes originals (Chew On That, What’s Poppin’), acquired shows (Totally Random, Cody the Dinosaurlingual content.

The youth network continues to emphasize its desire for international content, and to help creators, batteryPOP is accepting concepts in all formats from writers, animators, puppeteers, directors, actors, voice-over artists and illustrators and will provide production assistance, revenue sharing, marketing, and further development support should a show become a hit.
