Europe’s biggest visitor attraction operator Merlin Entertainments has joined forces with Finland’s Rovio Entertainment to launch the first-ever Angry Birds 4D experience, which is set to debut at Merlin’s Thorpe Park Resort in Surrey, England this May.

Thorpe Park will house the brand-new 4,000-square-metre attraction that will feature characters from the Angry Birds property on rides including a 100-foot drop tower called Detonator and a new dodgems ride starring Red Bird and the Bad Piggies.

The 4D experience created by Rovio and 4D animation company 3DBA will also feature an exclusive, effects-laden, 10-minute 4D animated film in a theater designed by Simworx.

Thorpe Park currently offers more than 25 rides and attractions including Swarm, the UK’s first winged rollercoaster, and Stealth, one of Europe’s fastest and tallest rollercoasters.

The latest partnership for Merlin comes a day after it announced preschool TV brand In the Night Garden will appear in the new CBeebies Land attraction at UK-based Alton Towers Resort in May.
