Amy Robson has been upped to VP of production at Toronto, Canada-based Guru Studio, the production house behind Annie-nominated preschool series Justin Time.

Robson has been senior producer of animation for Guru since 2005 and the promotion comes on the heels of Guru’s latest three Annie Award nominations for Justin Time (52 x 11 minutes), which was overseen by Robson.

Since joining Guru Studio in 2005, Robson has been the senior producer on the studio’s commercials, broadcast design work, TV service work, and both the TV and interactive components of Justin Time.

In her new role as VP of production, she will oversee all current and future productions at the studio, which also include third-party series such as Spin Master’s flagship preschool CGI series for Nickelodeon, Paw Patrol, Mattel’s Ever After High (from the makers of Monster High), and Guru’s co-pro with Treehouse, BBC and Kindle Entertainment, Dinopaws. Guru, for its part, recently established a new 20,000-square-foot studio to house an expanding team of 3D and Harmony designers and animators, as well as  an interactive department that will produce ancillary and complementary online content for both original and third party properties.

Robson’s experience includes producing series for Corus/Nelvana, The Backyardigans and Guess with Jess. She began her career in Australia, later moving to London, where she produced the visual effects for Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.
