Through its regional agent Global Pursuit, the Uglydoll brand is securing its footprint in China via a new retail agreement with Galeries Lafayette. The France-based department store chain will introduce Uglydoll apparel, accessories and other products at its flagship Chinese store in Beijing.

Earlier this summer, Global Pursuit was tapped by Pretty Ugly to represent the Uglydoll brand, and the agency is charged with developing and expanding the brand’s licensing efforts in Taiwan, Hong Kong and China.

In addition to developing retail programs, Global Pursuit is also working with its network of licensees and retailers throughout their territories to enhance the Uglydoll brand experience in categories such as apparel, accessories, stationery, publishing, toys and more.

The opening of the Galeries Lafayette Beijing store, in collaboration with Hong Kong-based fashion retailer I.T Limited, has been one of the most-anticipated retail openings in China. Galeries Lafayette, through its network of 59 locations in France, and stores in Berlin, Dubai, Casablanca, Jakarta and Beijing, currently sells 2,500 brands and on average welcomes one million visitors per day.
