New York-based indie Little Airplane Productions’ Small Potatoes characters are now part of soft toy manufacturer Animal Magic’s newly formed factory-to-consumer business.

Animal Magic will produce customized soft toys delivered directly from the factory to the consumer. Through this process, it will be possible for Small Potatoes Facebook followers – which number 1.8 million – to design their own plush Small Potato from a palette of features and accessories, have them created to order, and sent directly to their homes from Animal Magic’s toy factory in South China.

The Small Potatoes animated series is produced by Little Airplane Productions and follows the adventures of a band of four singing potatoes. It currently airs in more than 15 countries including the US, Canada, the UK and Australia. The digital success of Small Potatoes has been driven largely by its custom potato initiative on Facebook that allows parents and teenagers to request custom potato avatars of their family members that may be shared across all the social media networks.

The plush promotion comes on the heels of the Small Potatoes inspiring a star-studded remixed version of the song Imagination, which was written by Little Airplane’s Josh Selig and originally performed in the  Small Potatoes preschool series.
