Following last week’s announcement of a Care Bears integrated retail campaign with Hong Kong-based character Bunny King, AG Properties is unveiling its first licensing deals for the Care Bears franchise in China.

MINDStyle and B&AB Limited will be debuting apparel and accessories lines featuring the brand. The agreements, brokered by licensing agent Medialink, will also usher in Care Bears fashions to the Philippines, Thailand, India and South Korea.

Pop culture licensee MINDStyle will focus on using local artwork, environments and patterns to create apparel, accessories, gift and novelty lines. The strategy will initially target teens and adults across department and specialty stores.  B&AB Limited, meanwhile, will introduce a direct-to-retail line of apparel and fashion accessories in more than 70 of its stores in China, Hong Kong and Macau.

The company says China remains a priority market for the AG Properties global licensing team.
