Jim Benton movie coming to Hallmark Channel

Author, artist and long-time Kidscreen contributor Jim Benton has announced that a new original live-action movie based on his bestselling book series, Dear Dumb Diary, will debut on Hallmark Channel on September 6.

Author, artist and long-time Kidscreen contributor Jim Benton has announced that a new original live-action movie based on his bestselling book series, Dear Dumb Diary, will debut on Hallmark Channel on September 6.

The two-hour movie is a joint-production between ARC Entertainment, Walden Media, written and produced by Jim Benton and Janet and Jerry Zuker of Zucker Productions. It is directed by Kristin Hanggi.

The movie will draw on the book series published by Scholastic and feature the talent of Laura Bell Bundy, James Waterston and Sterling Griffith. The book series has sold more than eight million copies in 18 different languages since its debut in 2004.
