With preschool series Doc McStuffins extending into a new spinoff show and mobile platforms, Disney Junior is now taking the brand on the road with an interactive health-focused US traveling tour.
The Doc Mobile, a 27-foot Airstream trailer, will start its multi-city tour on August 18 in Boston and conclude on September 28 in Phoenix. The promotion is themed “So Much You Can Do…to Take Care of You!” and will feature an area for kids to perform a “check-up” on their own toys, plus other activities and age-appropriate health and wellness lessons including nutrition and physical development and fitness. Kids will also have the opportunity to meet real-life doctors from the Artemis Medical Society, an organization of more than 2,500 female African-American physicians from around the world who formed their group after seeing a reflection of themselves in the Doc McStuffins character.
The tour, which will be tracked on Disney Junior’s Facebook page and on Twitter at @DisneyJuniorUSA #DocMobile, will precede the second season premiere of the show on September 6 on Disney Channel and Disney Junior, as well as the debut of Doc McStuffins: The Doc Mobile Game and other interactive activities on DisneyJunior.com/Doc on August 30.
Doc McStuffins was 2012’s number-one cable TV series for kids ages two to five and the number-one cable TV preschool series in total viewers and women 18 to 49.
